After walking away from a successful 20-year acting career. Hollywood super star Cameron Diaz has revealed her reasons for retiring from the movie business.
The “Charlie’s Angels” actress ,47. Joined Goop founder Gwyneth Paltrow for the lifestyle site’s latest episode of “In Goop Health: The Sessions” where the two talked about the issue. She told Gwyneth Paltrow. That her decision left her at “peace.”
“I got a peace in my soul, Because I was finally taking care of myself.” Cameron Diaz said.
“It’s a strange thing to say. I know a lot of people won’t understand it, but it’s so intense to work at that level and be that public and put yourself out there.” she told Paltrow. ”There’s a lot of energies coming at you at all times, when you’re really visible as an actor and doing press and putting yourself out there, I’m sensitive to some energies and not others. But I do get the overwhelming energy of the attention being put towards me, I stopped, I really looked at my life, and I saw what I had been [missing].”
The actor said she decided to really focus on her relationships with family and friends. After handing over control of certain aspects of her life to other people for many years.
“When you’re making a movie, it’s the perfect excuse for owning you, You’re there for 12 hours a day for months. On end and you have no time for anything else.” She said.
“I had been going so hard for so long, working, making films, such a grind,” Diaz continued : ”I didn‘t make any space for my personal life.”
The former actress decided to become “self-sufficient”. And prove she could lookout of herself as an adult, “putting all the pieces of my life together the way that I wanted it to be put together. Not how other people thought it should go.”
