Lisa Kudrow and Jennifer Aniston have reunited to discuss their time on Friends.
The pair – who played Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay on the hit show respectively – took part in Variety‘s Actors on Actors issue, filming an interview together for a special that was released on Monday.
Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow admitted that they hadn’t watched the show back. But they reveal that they’re watched some bloopers since.
“I was with Courteney [Cox], and we were trying to find something to reference – an old Friends thing – and then we stumbled on bloopers,” Jennifer tells Lisa during their chat. “we sat there, at the computer, like two nerds, watching these bloopers and laughing at ourselves,” she said.
“I’ve done it too,” Lisa laughs, saying she’s spent “hours” watching the cast’s outtakes.
Lisa said that thinking of the bloopers reminded her of one mistake Jennifer always made during filming, saying she would “get into these fits of laughter because you had this wonderful ability to – you were about to hit your punchline, And you would do this adorable thing where you would break”.
“You would say the punchline. And you would always turn to the audience and say, ‘I’m sorry, it’s really funny’,” Lisa recalled.
They also discussed their upcoming reunion episode, and dropped some hints.
“I can’t wait to do that,” Lisa said. “I really can’t wait to do that. We don’t know everything about it. We need to say I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well.”
The Friends reunion special on HBO is due to be filmed later this year, because of the Corona pandemic.
