Kelly Clarkson is no stranger to being mistaken for another celebrity.
Clarkson and guests Michelle Buteau and Cheryl Hines played a game called “I’m Awesome At Being Awkward,” where they were forced to share what they would do in the most awkward situations, One of those situations was being mistaken for another person.
The ‘broken & beautiful’ singer began: “This girl came up to me and was like, ‘Oh my god, your song ‘So Small’ is one of my favorites, I kept thinking, ‘I don’t have a song called ‘So Small,’ and then she said another song and I was like, ‘Oh, you think I’m Carrie Underwood.'”
The ‘stronger’ hitmaker continued: “And I literally look nothing like Carrie Underwood, I was so embarrassed for her that I just…She was like, ‘Can you sign this?’ then I totally signed ‘Carrie Underwood,’ I think that might be illegal!”
However, This isn’t the first time Clarkson has revealed that fans thinking she was Underwood.
Back in 2016, Kelly said on Z100’s Elvis Duran and The Morning Show: “People come up to me all the time, okay, we look nothing alike, we sound nothing alike, there’s nothing about us that is similar, except we were both on Idol,” Kelly, 38, continued: “People are always like, ‘I love your song, ‘So Small,’ and I’m like, ‘Thank you, thank you, I think you’re thinking I’m Carrie Underwood,’ It always happens!”
Clarkson and Underwood have been friends since American Idol brought them together, Clarkson was the very first winner of the competition. While Underwood won the competition show, in 2005, three years after.
