Shawn Mendes alluded to a collab with Justin Bieber during his interview by Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp.
The collab rumors began when the two Canadian singers were seen at a recording studio together back in August.
The ‘mercy’ hitmaker spoke during an interview on Britain’s Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp. As when one of the hosts asked Shawn Mendes if he would ever collaborate with Justin Bieber.
The host asked Mendes: “I wonder if it’s true Shawn, that you turned down a collaboration with Justin Bieber last month.”
The ‘in my blood’ hitmaker replied: “Is this you trying to get me to confirm that I have a collaboration with Justin Bieber, that I didn’t last month, is that what you’re saying, If I turned one down, that would be insane, considering he’s been one of my favourite artists since I was like nine years old.” Mendes continued. With a sly smile that could be the confirmation of the collab. “I cannot confirm or deny.”
However, the 22 years old singer also has admitted he’s been a fan of the ‘baby’ singer Justin since he was a child and thinks it’s “really cool” that Bieber has now become his “mentor” after the two began forming a close bond.
He gushed teasing his fans: “In the last six months, we’ve definitely become a lot closer [him and bieber]… It’s really cool to have him as a mentor in a lot of ways, just to kind of talk through stuff with, because there are not many people who do this type of stuff, But anyway, back to your question because I’m now sidetracking on purpose.”
